Tosco Corporation, 76 Lubricants Co.     1997-2000

Logistics Coordinator

Responsible for Inventory Control of raw materials required for manufacturing lube oil products.

·          Developed inventory monitoring programs to maintain proper levels.  Budget $44 million.

·          Provided relief for Production Scheduler.

·          Quality Control Auditor as mandated by ISO-9002 Quality System.

·          Negotiated lower truck freight rates and monitored related expense.

·          Provided guidance for railroad, and monitored enroute shipments. 

Unocal Corporation     1968-1997

Supervisor, Rail Operations (1986-1997)

Responsible for the management of Western region tank car fleet consisting of 460 rail cars,

responsibilities included contract and lease negotiations and approval.

·          Negotiated track lease agreement, which saved $500 thousand in tank car demurrage charge annually.

·          Re-negotiated rail freight contract, which saved $300 thousand in freight expense annually.

·          Operated butane rail car fleet that performed 10 trips annually, almost twice the national average.

·          Developed pre-trip inspections and shopping program, which resulted in less down time for cars. 

Tank Car Analyst (1983-1986)

Responsible for monitoring placement and tracking of rail fleet for Unocal’s Western region.

·          Reduced fleet size when company closed asphalt operations.

·          Purchased computer rail tracking system, which allowed a P.C. based system to better track at a lower cost. 

Shipping Dispatcher (1978-1983)

Responsible for truck shipments of petroleum products in Western United States.
