Agribuys, Torrance, California 1999 - 2001
Vice President, B2B e-Commerce Logistics
Created and implemented a global transportation management system to support Agribuys’ online marketplace model for buyers and sellers of perishable food products.
Partnered with multi-modal service providers ensuring adequate equipment capacity for the anticipated 75K transactions per month. Also provided neutral resource for conducting price discovery for all modes and services.
ConAgra Grocery Products (Hunt-Wesson, Inc.), Fullerton, CA 1978 – 1999
Manager, Transportation (1997-1999)
Managed a $100 million transportation budget and provided leading edge transportation programs to meet cost and service objectives. Provided logistics support for 85 manufacturing facilities, 14 distribution centers, 1500 vendor shipping points and 20,000 customer receiving points.
· Optimized on-time performance (99% service level) and lowered costs by five percent by forming strategic alliances with "select" quality and cost-effective asset based carriers.
· Improved customer service and on-time performance through cross-function meetings with trading partners. Face-to-face meetings translated into an immediate reduction of 50% in customer complaints.
